BOIL WATER ADVISORY STILL IN EFFECT Update on water valve replacement for September 15, 2023.
Water was restored on Thursday late afternoon. Crews worked on Friday to fill in excavations where possible others remain open.
We ask the public to please not enter the working zones, climb on the material piles, or touch any equipment.
The Village of Edgerton is aware water is coming from the valve cover near the post office, incidents like this do occur when systems are depressed. The Village of Edgerton staff take great care in bring the system online, but with the age of the infrastructure the risk increases. The decision was made to not attempt a repair until next week to reduce the chance of water failure over the weekend.
Our staff started early on Friday to get water samples completed to reduce the size of the boil water advisory, these samples were driven into Edmonton to the provincial lab and with the support of AHS lab staff and Health Inspectors we hope to get results over the weekend. Once we know the result and it may be possible to lift the boil water advisory for certain regions of the Village. We hope this will include the school.
Expected plans for the week of September 18 to 22, 2023. (Please note if an incident occurs, water may be shut down unexpectedly across the village) Water should restored nightly.
